1Password is a simple tool that keeps all your passwords and important documents in one secure place. The easiest way to stop dealing with lost passwords

Most people:

  • reuse the same password way too often
  • forget logins constantly
  • or end up resetting passwords all the time 🙃

That’s where 1Password comes in—it’s a simple way to organize everything in one place – for $3.99 a month.

What it does (super simple)

  • Keeps all your logins (and important documents) in one place
  • Creates strong passwords for you
  • Fills in your login info for you
  • Syncs automatically between devices

For families:

  • Everyone can store their own logins
  • Easy to access whenever needed
  • No more sharing or forgetting passwords

So instead of remembering a bunch of passwords, you just remember one.

It Works on pretty much everything

It’s not tied to just one device. It works on all your devices:

  • iPhone and Android
  • Mac and Windows
  • browsers and apps

So your passwords are there whether you’re on your Android, Apple device, laptop, or switching between both.

Why people use it

  • No more guessing passwords
  • No more reset emails
  • Faster checkout and logins

It handles the annoying parts in the background.

What you can store

  • Logins (websites, apps, email accounts)
  • Bank info (account numbers, cards, PINs)
  • Personal IDs (driver’s license, passport, Social Security)
  • Secure notes (medical info, memberships, important details)
  • Reward programs and memberships
  • Wi-Fi passwords and router info
  • Software licenses and product keys
  • Crypto wallets and recovery phrases
  • Work/tech info (servers, databases, API credentials, SSH keys)

Basically, anything important you don’t want to lose or forget can be stored securely in one place.

What happens if you stop paying

You don’t lose access to your passwords.

  • You can still see everything
  • You just can’t add new logins or use autofill

I asked Paddy — the 1Password chatbot — what happens if you can’t pay your bill and what happens to your logins and documents.

Here’s what it said:

A frozen account means your 1Password subscription has lapsed, either because it was cancelled or a payment didn’t go through.

The good news is your data is safe and you can still sign in to view and copy your items.

You just won’t be able to add or edit items, invite people, or use the browser extension until you reactivate.

Can People at 1Password See Your Private Information?

I asked Paddy — the 1Password chatbot — Can anyone at 1Password see my passwords?.

Here’s what it said:

No. The data you save in 1Password is encrypted and inaccessible to us.

  • Your passwords and saved items are end-to-end encrypted with keys only you have
  • They don’t know your account password and can’t reset or bypass it
  • Even details like titles, URLs, tags, and icons are encrypted

They’ll never ask for your account password or full Secret Key—and you shouldn’t share it with anyone.

What Happens if 1Password Gets Hacked?

I also asked: What happens if 1Password gets hacked?

Here’s the simple answer:

Even if 1Password were breached, your data would still be protected.

  • Everything in your account is end-to-end encrypted
  • Your account password is never shared and is required to unlock your data
  • Your data is also protected by a unique Secret Key

So even if someone got access to encrypted data, they wouldn’t be able to read anything without both your account password and your Secret Key.

We asked the hard questions

Here are other questions you might want to ask:

  • Can it save passwords from apps, not just websites?
  • Does it work on all my devices at the same time?
  • Will it log me out of things or keep me signed in?
  • What happens when I get a new phone or laptop?
  • Can I export everything if I leave?

Is it worth trying?

If dealing with passwords is a constant annoyance, this is one of those tools that simplifies everything.
